Cheaha Land Services distributed flyers in the Midway Park (MPPO) area yesterday, Sept 10. These flyers say that there will be a "signing meeting" at the Airport Freeway Church of Christ, 210 Airport Freeway this Saturday, Sept 13th from 9AM unti 4PM. Live checks will be issued to those who sign up.
These flyers say that the lease was negotiated/endorsed by the ETMLC who is not part of MPPO. The flyers state that a copy of the lease is attached for review, it is not. The flyers state that there are two well sites, there are not.
Cheaha has been contacted multiple times for information and a written offer to be presented to the MPPO membership. They have declined to provide this.
Cheaha was contacted this morning and requested to postpone the meeting so that the lease could be reviewed, and MPPO members provided pertinent information; this was declined as well.
The MPPO leadership does not endorse this lease, nor have they been provided a copy for review.
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING THAT YOU HAVE NOT HAD REVIEWED BY AN ATTORNEY!

Beginning yesterday, September 11, 2008, the MPPO(Midway Park Property Owners) in Euless, all began to stand up together and question the actions of Cheaha Land Services in our community.
Cheaha has offered mineral leases to some (not all) of the Midway Park Subdivision, and has left a great portion of homeowners wondering "where does this leave me?". Last night (9-11-08) a meeting was held for the people included and not included in the mineral leases, and issues remained unresolved for homeowners fighting for their share. Of the homeowners who were already offered mineral leases, a suprising number remained undecided as to whether or not to sign at all. Their turmoil was a direct result of two things: A)The knowledge that SO MANY in the community were being left out of the negotiations, and given no valid reason as to why only a few street blocks determined the difference in thousands of dollars, and B)The fact that to date, none of them have layed eyes on an actual mineral lease.
Today MANY of those same homeowners rallied together and went door to door, informing over FOUR HUNDRED fellow neighbors and handing out flyers to get the message out. The message was that we as a community need to work together to get our mineral leases signed, as we too sit on the same natural gas field as the those being offered deals.
We got an overwhelming response within hours, from MANY homeowners interested in finding a solution. We will attend the signing meeting held by Cheaha tomorrow (9-13-08), to meet some of the homeowners who WERE offered the mineral leases already. If you are one of these homeowners, we implore you to rethink your decision on the signing tomorrow. It is understandably a hard decision to possibly postpone recieving a large check and signing a lease now. And this is in no way a ploy to get the sum of money offered to increase by holding out.
All we ask is for the neighborhood to unite as one, and help to renegotiate with the companies drilling. We need to work together to create a bargaining tool, so that we might all enjoy the perks that come with living atop the largest onshore natural gas field in the country.
One last thought to sleep on before the signing tomorrow: Around 800 Residents make up the MPPO in Euless. Only approximately 250 homes are being included. Does that sound reasonable to you?
Thank you,
Russell Taylor, and Chrystal Smith
You people DON'T know what you are talking about! Shut UP!!!! You should get your facts straight before you start talking about something you obviously know nothing about.
